
We like to remind everyone that showing to please read our rules carefully...
- Collared shirt, riding breeches, riding boots and ASTM approved helmet required for all riders. Jackets are not required and excused once the temperature exceeds 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Stabled horses must be provided with water in a bucket, two bales of bedding minimum and forage. Stall rental is required for use of any stall for any reason. This includes tack, feed and or people trying to stay out of inclement weather.
3. No boots or leg wraps allowed in Hunter classes.
4. No martingales or tiedowns in flat classes.
5. No running martingales in Hunter/Equitation classes.
6. Traditional Hunter bits in Hunter and Equitation Classes
- Snaffles, pelhams, and full-cheek bridles, all with cavesson nosebands, are required.
- Judges may penalize, but may not eliminate, a horse or pony that competes in an unconventional snaffle, pelham, or full-cheek bridle. These include hunter gags and kimberwicks.
- Judges must eliminate horses or ponies that compete in illegal bits or nosebands. Illegal bits include but are not limited to three-ring gags, gags, etcetera. Illegal nosebands include, but are not limited to drop, flash, and figure-eight nosebands.
- When using a curb chain with a leverage bit, the chain must be made of loose links or joints. It must lie smoothly against the jaw and may be wrapped or inserted into a cover for comfort. They may not be used if they have wire, metal, rawhide, metal “keepers,” or any other substance except for an attachment of the curb chain to the bit.
- Our steward will warn you about improper equipment and give you the opportunity to either change the equipment OR allow you to show with it. If you choose to show with illegal or non-traditional equipment, it will then be placed at the judge’s discretion. If the judges choose to excuse or penalize, that decision is final.
7. Excessive use of crop will be grounds for dismissal from class.

* No strikes to the head allowed
8. A horse may compete in a maximum of 3 jumping divisions.
*Flat classes do not count
9. No cross entries of riders between Ring 1 and Ring 2. Horses may compete in Walk /Trot OR Walk/Trot/Canter classes and the corresponding poles / cross rail classes but cannot cross enter into Short Stirrup. The only exception is Hunter Hack, which is open to all Ring 2 Riders.

10. Professionals may ride in any class unjudged – please turn your number over and inform gate person. The back number of professional riders will be clearly marked, if judged.
11. Rider must be a member of the Carolina Schooling Series for points to count for end of year Circuit awards.
12. Membership is effective from the date money is received by the organization until the end of the calendar year.
13. Three entries per class (6 jump rounds) are required in a division for Champion /Res Champion to be awarded.
14. In Ring 2, divisions may be combined to fill a division. Points will be awarded in the riders’ respective division.
15. Rudeness or unsportsmanlike conduct toward show officials, volunteers, other competitors or guests, to be grounds for disqualification by judge or show official.
16. Riders, spectators and trainers may not talk to the judges. All questions should be directed to Show Steward, who will be listed in the show office.
17.Judges and show management have the right to dismiss any horse or rider for unsoundness, nontraditional equipment or actions/situations they deem as unsafe.
18. Spectators must not set up tents or seating areas less than 15 feet or in the line of view from the judges stand, show office, and well away from horse paths, arena rails or in the in gate holding area. Horses on leads must also be kept a safe distance from mounted horses.
19. The show will not hold a gate for more than 5 minutes. We are a one-day show, it is up to exhibitors to communicate with gate staff about ring/trainer conflicts, tack changes and other scheduling conflicts.
20. Entries/ Scratches/Adds for classes #1,2,3 (Walk/Trot) and #29,30,31 (Beginner Hunter) close 30 minutes before the start of the show.
